As the world demands an Eco-friendly environment car manufacturers have begun to spare more and more of their factory space to manufacture  zero-emissions vehicles. When talking about electric automakers we wouldn’t miss Tesla. Tesla, founded in 2008 is one of the  major companies in electric automobile industry. You probably already know about Tesla’s Model S Electric Sedan and Model X Electric SUV introduced in 2012 and 2015 respectively. While both Model S and Model X have already gained highest ratings under safety and performance, Tesla introduced Model 3 that began production in 2017.

However, Tesla is now being challenged by other major automakers that revealed  reign the fossil fuel automobile industry.

BMW’s first zero emissions mass-produced car was i3 launched in 2013. The newest member in i series BMW i3s  is a sports mode zero emissions car that  will come in 2018.

Power and performance

This has a 144 horsepower electric motor that capable of accelerating from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 99 miles per hour.

Battery and charging  

It takes about 5-6 hours to charge from a home charging point. The vehicle can drive 124 miles on a single charge.

Price: BMW i3s will have a starting price of $48K.

BMW Mini Electric concept will arrive in 2019 with a unique look of an electric car.

Unfortunately its performance specifications and price are not yet available.


Mercedes GLC F-CELL

GLC F-CELL from the Mercedes-Benz family is a plug-in hybrid which is not purely electric that will be rolling on the road in 2019. This is a Hydrogen powered mid-sized SUV, that claims to be the first electric vehicle with fuel cell and battery Powertrain.


Power and performance

GLC F-CELL has an output of 200hp and a torque of 350 Nm. This can reach a top speed of 99 mph.

Battery and charging

The vehicle holds 4.4 kg of hydrogen and 13.8 kWh battery pack. It has a hydrogen range of 400 km and an electric range of 50km and ,that will help power the vehicle when Hydrogen runs low. With over 30 minutes to charge the battery F-CELL SUV can drive 271 miles on a single charge.

Mercedes EQ Concept

Mercedes Benz introduces their new product brand on electric mobility Mercedes EQ. EQ that stands for Electric Intelligent will be available for sale in 2019.

Power and performance

This electric SUV consists of two electric motors with an output of 300kW. It’s an all wheel drive which delivers high performance accelerating from zero to 100km/h in under five seconds.

Battery and charge

EQ  can drive up to 500km on a single charge of the battery which has a total capacity of 70kW. 5 minutes charging time provides 100km range.

Mercedes EQ will be on sale with a starting price of $39k.


Honda Urban EV

Urban EV by Honda will be launched in 2019 in Europe. The interior is embellished with a large screen scanning the dash and screen on the upper door panels. The vehicle is incorporated with Honda Automated Network Assistant which communicates with the driver.

Honda has not yet released performance specifications of it’ s newest electric car.



Jaguar I Pace

This is Jaguar’s electric SUV concept that will go on sale from 2019.

Power and performance

I-PACE has two electric motors that can produce a combined horsepower of 400. This is supported by its 700 Nm instant torque. With All Wheel Drive capabilities and aerodynamic design I-PACE is able to accelerate to 100km/h in 4 seconds.

Battery and charging

The battery has a capacity of 90 kWh and it can achieve 80% charge in 90 minutes with a 50kW DC rapid charger.

What’s more?

Jaguar I-PACE is equipped with two touch screen displays and a virtual screen that can be controlled using buttons on steering wheel.


Hyundai Kona

Hyundai’s Electric SUV, Kona is the latest addition to the lineup that will arrive in 2018.

Power and performance

This vehicle has 177 horsepower boosted by Gamma 1.6 Turbo engine. It is capable of accelerating from zero to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 210km/h.

Battery and charging

Kona is powered by 50kWh battery pack that has a range of 270 miles.

What’s more?

Kona is provided with High-beam assist that recognizes oncoming vehicles at night. The vehicle will automatically steer back into the lane when the car is drifting out of the lane due to its Lane keeping assist. Moreover, Kona has LED Daytime running lights and Forward Collision avoid assist for improved safety.

Kona will be on sale starting from $39K.


Volvo Polestar One

Polestar 1, a plug- in performance hybrid car is the first car of Polestar which will start production in 2019.

Equipped with four-cylinder gasoline engine that will provide 600hp.

Polestar 1 can drive up to 150km on a single charge and it is the longest full electric range of any hybrid car on the market.

2018 Nissan Leaf

Nissan will be introducing their latest Nissan Leaf model  with better performance and technology in early 2018.

This has 147hp and can drive up to 150 miles on a single charge.

Battery and charging

One hour charge by a 240V Home charging point can travel up to 22 miles of range. The vehicle can be charged 80% in just 40 minutes.

Nissan ProPilot Assist will drift the driving stress off you. The vehicle also has Automatic Emergency braking with Pedestrian detection and more.

2018 Nissan Leaf will be ready for sale at a starting price of $ 30k.

Audi Elaine


Audi will be unveiling the new SUV coupe in 2019 the second production of electric car after Audi electron Sportback.

Consist of three electric motors one on the front axle and other two on the rear that power all four wheels delivering 429h. This can sprint from zero to 60mph in 4.5 seconds

The battery pack delivers 320 kW of power and it can travel 311 miles with 95 kWh.
